Park Lane Induction

The Park Lane Induction was built to provide a modern, online onboarding experience for the Park Lane Group workforce. The goal was to move away from messy, manual orientation and build a single, engaging platform. This new system introduces new hires to the company culture, safety rules and operational standards. By using a smart mix of technology, we turned a traditional process into a premium digital asset.

Objectives and Goals

  • Streamline Onboarding: Replace manual orientation with a consistent, automated digital experience.
  • Centralise Learning: Create a single source of truth for all employee training and compliance.
  • Enhance Brand Identity: Deliver a polished experience that looks and feels like Park Lane Group.
  • Measure Engagement: Give management real data on how staff are progressing and completing their training.

My Role and Responsibilities

On this project, I managed the full lifecycle, from the initial concept through to launch.

  • Project Management: I used Trello to keep track of milestones, feedback and delivery timelines.
  • Instructional Design & UX: I created detailed mockups in Figma so stakeholders could agree on the visual direction and user flow.
  • Content Development: I wrote and built the core curriculum using Evolve to ensure it was responsive and interactive.
  • Visual Asset Creation: I designed a unique set of custom characters and scenes using Vyond to give the content a human touch.
  • LMS Implementation: I led the setup, customisation and rollout of TalentLMS for the entire workforce.

Process and Approach

My approach focused on getting the design right first.

  • Strategic Planning: I used Trello to map out the project phases and ensure clear communication with the Park Lane team the whole way through.
  • Prototyping (Figma): Before building anything, I designed the interface in Figma. This allowed us to iterate on the look and feel without wasting technical time.
  • Iterative Authoring (Evolve & Vyond): I built the course in Evolve and integrated custom Vyond animations to create a story that felt unique to Park Lane Group.
  • Systems Deployment: I configured TalentLMS and made sure the user hierarchy and reporting structures were optimised for their specific workforce needs.

Key Features or Solutions

  • Bespoke Visual Language: Using Vyond allowed for custom branded characters. This made the induction feel personal and relevant rather than something off the shelf.
  • Responsive Multi-Device Learning: Because it was developed in Evolve, the course provides a smooth experience whether you are on a desktop in the office or using a mobile device out in the field.
  • Automated Compliance Tracking: By implementing TalentLMS, Park Lane Group could automatically track certifications and renewals.

Challenges and How They Were Overcome

  • Challenge: Designing a system that appeals to a diverse workforce with different levels of technical skill.
  • Solution: I prioritised a minimalist design in the Figma stage and focused on intuitive navigation. By keeping the interface clean and the interactions straightforward in Evolve, we ensured high completion rates regardless of the user’s tech skills.
  • Challenge: Balancing a fast-paced delivery schedule with high-quality custom visuals.
  • Solution: Using Trello for agile project management allowed me to manage the Vyond asset creation alongside the Evolve build, which stopped any bottlenecks from forming.

Results and Impact

The project received high praise from the Park Lane Group leadership and significantly improved the efficiency of their HR operations.

  • Seamless Scalability: The new TalentLMS environment successfully onboarded the workforce with zero downtime.
  • Improved Retention: Stakeholders reported that the custom branded, engaging content led to better information retention compared to previous methods.
  • Client Satisfaction: The project was very well received and established a new standard for internal training within the organisation.

Visuals and Media

  • The Design Journey: Screenshots of the Figma prototypes alongside the final Evolve output.
  • Vyond Gallery: A showcase of the custom characters and scenes created specifically for the Park Lane brand.
